NISSAN REDEFINES SMALL CAR DESIGN WITH THE NEW NOTE

Nissan Live reporting: The latest news direct from the Nissan Live Event in Bratislava, Slovakia, where Nissan is showcasing its power in the B segment with an all-new small car range.

Bratislava, Slovakia 09 July, 2013. Creating the perfect blend of style and practicality is a job Nissan's designers take very seriously. With buyers in the B-segment demanding more than ever from their cars, Nissan's design team knew that the new Note had to offer the best packaging, the smartest details and the most attractive looks in the sector.

The Note achieves all this - and more. Inspired by the acclaimed Invitation concept car revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Note has an energetic design that is both stylish and functional.

Created specifically for the demanding European market, the Sunderland-built Note combines a long wheelbase with short overhangs to create a sporty, agile look. The sides of the car are distinguished by a dramatic ‘Squash Line' that adds a powerful dynamism to the profile. Inspired by the flight of a fast-moving squash ball travelling around the court, it typifies the attention to detail that marks the new Note out from the crowd.

The Note also comes with the option of a new Dynamic Styling Pack that offers an even more powerful appearance. In an area of the market where personalisation is becoming increasingly important, the Dynamic Styling Pack delivers the sportier look that many buyers demand.

Inside, the Note offers passengers a comfortable, safe and engaging driving experience. Many key aspects of the cabin layout were engineered at the Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) in the UK, with particular focus placed on driving comfort and rear seat practicality.

Nissan's engineers examined every detail of the Note's design in unprecedented detail, fine-tuning and improving in areas where other manufacturers simply don't bother. For example, the Note's rear door hinges have been engineered to open to an unusually wide angle (almost 90 degrees). This makes fitting child seats significantly easier, and allows for bulkier objects to be loaded.

Equally innovative is a new Karakuri board, which is available as part of the Family Pack (standard on Tekna models, optional on Acenta). This multi-positional boot board allows owners to divide or open up the load space according to their needs. The two-part board can be arranged in numerous configurations, and helps to support and protect items in transit. Combined with the sliding rear seat bench, the Karakuri board opens up a world of storage and transportation opportunities for Note owners.
